SEAMLESS LIGHTING FOR MODERN COASTAL RETREAT
Project Description
A modernist hideaway in the suburbs of Papamoa, this Palm Springs property conceals a refined oasis behind its unassuming facade.
Combining mid-century influences with the textures and layout of modern New Zealand coastal living, our goal for this project was to create an adaptable lighting system to complement this architecturally designed home.
Quality, architectural fittings were selected for the property’s key focus areas – the entrance, kitchen, living, and dining rooms - with standard fittings in the hallways and bedrooms. Minimalistic LED strip lighting was used throughout the home in conjunction with low-glare downlights to create a soft and inviting atmosphere that spoke to the relaxed design and lifestyle of the property and its owners.
Concealed underneath the kitchen cabinetry, these strips allow for functional lighting without taking up valuable overhead space and were integrated into the timber-clad ceiling of the main living and dining space to create a seamless finish that disappears in the daytime.
As the clients were experiencing trouble dimming some of the fittings with their chosen switchgear and light switches, we were able to offer an upgraded power supply solution that gave them full control over their home’s lighting through the switches and a smartphone app.
